the Elfie update
the short version of the entire Elfie-eye story is that she needed eye surgery for both eyes. her right eye, in addition to the eyelid surgery, had to be stitched closed so that the hole in her cornea would heal faster. for 3 weeks she was walking around as a one-eyed monster with a cone head. last week, she regained her sight, but was still a cone head. this past Tuesday she was put on cone-parole - she can go cone-free as long as she's supervised.
the good news is that her eyes look great and have healed really nicely. (ya!)
the *awesome* news is that in her first 2 hours of being cone free, she won me a $5 giftcard at PetSmart playing Musical Sits (think dog version of Musical Chairs). i took her to the PetSmart Pet Party, and after getting a free goodie bag (i gave away the cat food), a free photo, and unlimited treats, we won the $5 giftcard for the medium sized dog category. that's right... she's my little money maker.
hopefully, the weather will be nice this weekend and i'll get some awesome photos of her.
